PESTICA 5.5 is released

The latest PESTICA is released based on the paper; Shin W, Koenig KA, Lowe MJ. (2022) A comprehensive investigation of physiologic noise modeling in resting state fMRI; time shifted cardiac noise in EPI and its removal without external physiologic signal measures. Note that SLOMOCO is not included PESTICA package anymore, and distributed in the parallel pipeline with PESTICA. To run SLOMOCO, you need to download and install SLOMOCO separately.

slicewise motion correction SLOMOCO now released in PESTICA

Have you ever wondered how bad your volumetric motion parameters perform? Try SLOMOCO, a Slice-oriented motion correction that obtains the 6DOF motion for every slice independently. The volumetric motion parameters are essentially an average of the slice measures over each volume, and if the motion changes direction during a volume or is fast within a volume, then the volumetric motion will be wrong. The script inside the zipfile generates a metric of the average voxel displacement using these slicewise motion parameters, and this is more sensitive to motion corruption than any volumetric measure. SLOMOCO will help you characterize motion corruption more accurately.

Physiologic Noise PESTICA tools released for AFNI users

AFNI users rejoice. With this parallel version of PESTICA, you can now use PESTICA with standard AFNI tools (example shell scripts included). Additionally, you can input NIFTI-formatted data (but only in NIFTI_PAIR hdr+img format, so if you have AFNI BRIK or NIFTI nii files, you'll need to 3dcopy <dataset>.nii <dataset>.hdr before use).
