We are pleased to announce that the GIMIAS-1.5.r1 release is now available.

This version fixes several bugs and includes these new features:

- External applications: Now is possible to setup an external application in GIMIAS and use it as another processing tool, hiding the execution details to the end-user.

- Biomedical Imaging Workflows: A new approach for composition and execution of biomedical workflows is presented that allows interactive batch processing and parameter sweep.

- DICOM Browser: DICOM Browser functionality has been enhanced to allow browsing DICOM entries, DICOM entry sequences and automatic management of DICOM time series.

This version includes several bugfixes and these new features:

* [url=http://www.gimias.org/gimias-extensions?sobi2Task=sobi2Details&sobi2Id=28]Manual Segmenation Plugin[/url]: The interactive segmentation component allows segmenting an image using interactive tools like region growing and interpolating the manually segmented slices over all 3D volume. Furthermore, this component supports full undo/redo for all tools.
* [url=http://www.gimias.org/gimias-extensions?sobi2Task=sobi2Details&sobi2Id=33]Clinical Report Plugin[/url]: Report tool that allows to create a PDF document using text, tables and images.This tool is needed for all clinical workflows being used at hospitals.
* [url=http://www.gimias.org/gimias-extensions?sobi2Task=sobi2Details&sobi2Id=45]Remote Data Plugin[/url]: This plugin allows to retrieve and send data to a remote computer. Two new entries will be added to the File menu: Open Remote Data and Save Remote Data
* [url=https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/gimias/index.php?title=Security_Plugin]Security Plugin[/url]: It allows a security control of any connection node define under GIMIAS (XNAT).
